We make people love their cars and all, we sure do, but parking your ride on your hotel balcony seems a bit much. But that’s exactly what some guests at the B’Mine Hotel in Frankfurt do and they pay a lot of money for this privilege. We just think it’s stupid, overdone and gimmicky, but not everyone will agree with that assessment.
Watch this man detail exotic supercars on the side of the road.
For starters, we see the appeal. After all, as a guest you drive up, check in, collect your key card and then drive to one of the two car lifts. After scanning your key card, the elevator will take you to the correct level and you will drive onto the balcony of your hotel room.
This means you don’t have to walk through hallways, carry luggage while exercising and possibly greet strangers. Additionally, and this is a much bigger selling point, your vehicle will not be left unattended in the parking lot.
If you have a rather expensive car, or one that you just drive like crazy, there’s no risk of someone tapping on your doors, scratching the paint or, worse, stealing it. There is a sense of security during your ride.
And if you prefer to stare at your car instead of the Frankfurt skyline, you’ll get that view every time you look out your window.
But some of us like to go out on our hotel balcony and just relax in the fresh air. It seems frustratingly unnecessary to have your car in the road. After all, you’d have to climb around it and worry about spilling something on it while enjoying a drink outside.
Even more fundamentally, and we know this may come as a surprise to some, but we don’t actually want our holidays and our entire lives to revolve around our car. Crazy concept, we know, but even as big gearheads we like to have some balance, especially when we’re relaxing away from work and daily responsibilities.
When we stay in a hotel, unless it’s close to where we live, it’s usually a rental car if we have a vehicle. And honestly, we don’t want to be staring at a rental property, even one that’s pretty amazing, instead of enjoying our view of the city or the surrounding nature.
Not to mention the exhaust fumes that linger on the balcony and seep through the door into your hotel room – no thanks!
Ultimately, parking your car on your hotel balcony is a weird idea that we don’t think will progress beyond novelty status for the few willing to pay for the experience.
