We thought everyone understands that taking your big Ram truck onto the beach at high tide is a terrible idea. On the other hand, we see people doing stupid things to their cars all the time, so we shouldn’t be surprised if this land whale ends up stranded in Brazoria County, Texas, where everything is bigger.
In a crash, the motorcycle becomes implanted in the engine compartment of the car.
County officials called in a volunteer group that conducts off-road recoveries, as well as a towing company, to tow the wretched Ram from the beach to a yard where he unfortunately now belongs. We just wanted to see the look on the owner’s face when he realized his pickup was about to become one with nature, and not in a good way.
At the recovery location, the tow truck driver notices that the off-road recovery companies are actually not very well prepared. They’re volunteers, so we’ll cut them some slack, but one doesn’t have a good kinetic recovery option and another seems to have no idea how his winch works (maybe this one is new?).
Or it could be someone else’s Jeep. Everything seems a bit disorganized, but it all works.
The Jeeps are able to winch the big Ram out of the surf like a walrus emerging from the sea, only perhaps not as majestically. We shudder to think of how much damage was done to the pickup at that moment
What’s really hilarious is that the tow truck driver is able to maneuver his much heavier rollback truck across the sand, somehow not getting caught in the flood, and make the extraction with the Ram loaded.
What this comes down to, kids, is skill. So many guys think that buying a big truck means acquiring all kinds of skills through osmosis or some scrap. That’s not how it works. Driving on the beach requires experience and smarts, two things that were obviously in short supply.
